Be Popular and Win Cool Stuff!

Tag: Contests, Curious, Entertainment, Just Fun, Mouthy Girls, VideosMouthyGirl @ 7:58 am

Next time I run a contest, which all depends on the outcome of the iPod contest, I want to offer something a lot more people want.

So I therefore ask a question of you….what do you want? Something that you haven’t bought for yourself already and probably won’t because you feel it’s a frivolous purchase, or there are other things that take priority or for whatever reason you want but don’t have.

We’re talking in the $50 range roughly. Let’s not get nuts here and think the MouthyGirl pockets are deep, I assure you - they are not, in fact, there are no pockets - only dreams of pockets.

Tell me what you like MouthyPeople so that next time I run a contest (soon I plan) I can offer something that will have you all clamoring to MouthyGirl.com to enter the contest and put as many comments as you can out there on other blogs, forums, myspace pages, friendster shout outs, etc.

Be Popular and Win Cool Stuff! How do we do that? If you tell people how to win cool stuff, then you will be popular! So go ahead, run along and tell the people…MouthyGirl is giving away an iPod and they don’t have to do much to enter!

Let’s refresh on the entry possibilities now…okay if you don’t have a website of your own or a myspace page or any other web connection but typing in a search term and surfing…then here’s how you enter:

Comment on this post or the iPod post and tell me why you like MouthyGirl, then Subscribe to MouthyGirl.com by Email just click that there link I gave you and enter your email address so I can send you updates every day by email - and make sure you check your email for the verification so you can finalize your subscription. Lucky you will start getting every MouthyGirl post in email - every time I promise.

By this time you have 2 entries to the iPod contest, that’s twice your name is in the drawing. But there’s one more option to get more entries…

Lastly, you can comment on other blogs and link back to mine. The way you do that is to go to another website that allows user comments and input and please write a quality comment that isn’t just telling people about the contest without lending to the conversation occurring there. I am not endorsing spam here, just notification.

If you have questions about how to do that, email me at Sabrina@MouthyGirl.com and I’ll help you out. In that comment you’ll link back to MouthyGirl.com so others can come check it out.

Just for shits and giggles I decided to give you all a special bonus today and also to ask if you know where you may have seen this guy before…

Do you know where you’ve seen him yet?

7-11 commercials. LOL. Crazy eh? Don’t forget to tell me what you want to win!

Help Me Think I’m Somebody Else

Tag: Entertainment, Just Fun, VideosMouthyGirl @ 1:06 pm

This morning I posted a bunch of Top 40 80’s songs I would’ve loved to hear this morning…I’m glad you all liked it, so now that the morning is over…I had more music to share with you, some by request and some that are on the ever playing jukebox in my head.

Rach this first one is for you chica!

Bow down! This is the rock version of my music fiending this morning when I didn’t hear my favorite tunes…here’s another one from our lovely, wonderful and ever rocking Nine Inch Nails…(read: sarcasm)

I feel like the announcer at a concert. LOL.

Packin’ up my game and headed out West like the real McCoy.

This one sadly I can only provide you the link to because no one wants to share this video…. Shoots & Ladders. Ring around the rosy baby.

I’m not happy about this at all, but do go check it out…after you read this post that is….very cool ass video - and back when the lead singer was still HOTT.

This lead singer was a philosophy student…little trivia for you there..

Can you not just bang your head and forget all your worries with that? Awesome remake, just awesome. Let’s not forget the one song everyone remembers these guys by…

Your servant I am…are you down with the sickness?

Man, I just wanna crank up the stereo and jam all day….too bad I have to work. Lunch break over folks, gotta go!

Tag: Entertainment, Just Fun, Sex, Strength & Endurance, VideosMouthyGirl @ 8:02 am

Just because I want to today, I’m bringing you some oldies but goodies…I jammed all the way to work this morning, heard some great music, but there were a few things I didn’t hear that I would’ve really enjoyed. So I’m going to put them up here because as I find them and add them, I’ll get to hear them.

Ha Ha! And you’re all suckers in my game of “What’s on Next?”! Remember Salt-N-Pepa? Push it baby!

This dance ain’t for everybody now….only the SEXY people….so all you FLY muthas, get on up there and dance…DANCE I SAID!

Okay, this next one was more a ladies favorite but you’ll know it…

Anyone around? I think we’re alone now…so let’s get right to the next song…always makes me wanna get busy…lol.

Loosen up! Love the voice in the beginning, this was the UK video - the US video was a concert version of the song. Still awesome. Wanna know how into Def Leppard I am? Yeah, I’ve seen the movie. Ha!

And oh yes, who can forget the jam that we all know the words to? Tell me you don’t mouth the words when the beat kicks up…

Oh yes, I went there.

Got some favs you want to share? Tell me what they were here in case I’ve left any out I might go get some more at lunch and bring you a new set of tunes for this afternoon…if you’re good.

Home Ownership is for Suckers

Tag: Curious, Life, ProgressMouthyGirl @ 8:10 am

I’m beginning to think I was premature in the contest. With only a few entries and we’re closing in on the last two weeks, I think I might pull the contest to be run at another time.

Or maybe the prize is too common? Tell me, is the iPod not appealing? If not, I’ll keep that bad boy and buy something else to offer up in another month or two, when I have five readers instead of just the wonderful three of you. :)

Anyways…

Today is Monday, when I get home from work tonight I’ll be packing up my office to prepare for our move back to a more familiar land, closer to work for hubby and me and a familiar school district for MouthyBoy. We missed Euless, a lot. The convenience of having an Albertsons two blocks away, as opposed to twenty minutes, etc.

Having a house is overrated. There I said it. Phew. I thought I might pass out over that. I’m 29 and I spent the last year stressed and worried over all the bills coming together and the tax bill we received at the beginning of the year. We signed the contract to build when things were stable, steady and reliable.

We moved into the house after it was completed and three months later, massive rains took my hubby’s car away from us - one year shy of being paid for. Two months later my lovely reliable Corolla decided to stop being so reliable and the air conditioner worked when it wanted to (a huge deal breaker in Texas) so I sold that baby of mine in record time on Craigslist and bought a Protege…zoom zoom

Three months after that I felt my job was threatened. I was working as a Transcriptionist in a Dermatopathology Practice and our lab supervisor decided she didn’t like a fellow employee and gave my boss an ultimatum, “Him or me.” My boss chose him - regardless that he was more dedicated to that practice, had put much more into that practice since it’s inception and had TONS more respect for her (read: bosslady) than our lab supervisor did.

So he lost his job, and I feared that because dear old lab super and me didn’t always see eye to eye and I quite frankly didn’t like her or trust her after that, it was possible I was the next ultimatum - and unfortunately I could easily (I felt) be replaced so I started seeking alternative employment. Subsequently I found this place and have been here since.

But it seemed like we couldn’t have any luck if not for bad luck. Moving is not a pleasant activity, but the anticipation of the freedom of renting is about to kill me. Before this house I thought renting was for morons. I know better now.

We’re walking away, as so many others have before us in other homes and different situations in our economy as of late, we’re walking away. After all, it’s just a business deal, we decided the product was no longer worth the expense, and it’s time for it to go.

I know I seem scatterbrained today, and really it’s because I am - lots

So, my wonderful three readers, do you own or rent? What are your feelings on your situation and the positives and negatives of each in your mind?

Don’t Call it a Comeback

Tag: Curious, Entertainment, Just Fun, Life, Opinion, VideosMouthyGirl @ 11:58 pm

Have you noticed that a lot of things from the generation that a lot of us are from are coming back? Dance shows, leg warmers, big huge shades on your face reminiscent of George Michael? I Love the 80’s has become more than a show on VH1, it’s become the fashion again. Which on one hand is sort of funny in a nostalgic sort of way, but kind of creepy too. Are we not creative enough to come up with fresh ideas? We have to rely on decades past for our style now? What’s next poodle skirts? Seriously…what gives?

Musically, a lot of older songs are getting remixed into new ones, or covers are being done by now famous bands of songs that really should be reintroduced for their musical quality. For instance:

Rebel Yell originally by Billy Idol, this cover done by Drowning Pool (which I think is excellent):

Example #2, Word Up redone by Korn:

Example #3, The Wall redone also by Korn:

Yes I’m a fan, shut up. They kick ass and I defy anyone to argue. I have a huge appreciation for music, I would say that I always have a song in my head, always. At any given time I could sing it, but wouldn’t. My dad is a DJ, and has always been a rock and roll lover, my mom in her twenties was a Barbra Streisand impersonator and always sang in the car and was a country music and some rock lover. So I grew up with music all around me and have always felt it was a big part of my life. So I rock out all the time, I have diverse musical taste and can appreciate all types of music from instrumental jazz to heavy metal to old country. I’m easy to please.

Anyways it’s just an observation I’ve made, what do you think? Am I imagining things? Is it not looking more and more like we should expect a remake of the A-Team?

GirlFriday Win an Ipod!

Tag: Contests, Entertainment, GirlFriday, Just Fun, Mouthy Girls, VideosMouthyGirl @ 1:02 pm

I’m really pissed! I wanted to bring you guys the Spartans cheers from SNL. I thought that would be a hilarious little thing to put up today and so far I’ve not found a single clip I could share with you. I blame the Commies.

But I did find this one:

Over The Weekend

LMFAO!

I loved Chris Farley. Lemme go find more, like the one with him and Patrick Swayze, oh that was HILARIOUS!

Awesome! That’s got to be one of the funniest skits ever! What are your favorite SNL or MadTV skits? I always thought SNL was really funny and then the great ones started leaving the show and now MadTV is the funniest in my opinion, which show do you like better?

And hey….

As of today there are exactly 18 days left in the contest for the Ipod. Let me just show you the entry rules again you can enter on this post, or place a comment for your entry on this post as well:

Sign up to get MouthyGirl.com by email every day and I want you to write about this contest, it doesn’t have to be complicated, just something simple like this:

MouthyGirl.com is having a contest for an iPod shuffle and all I had to do was write this post about it and I signed up to get MouthyGirl by email everyday. MouthyGirl.com has great daily posts and GirlFriday is a special favorite of mine, you should check it out! It’s a really great place to say what you feel like saying without worrying about being judged or censored.

By all means feel free to write more, but I want a minimum of 50 words, and to mention why you like MouthyGirl.com. That’s one entry to the contest. Then you’ll want to Subscribe to MouthyGirl.com by Email for another entry. That’s two entries into the contest, if you don’t own your own domain name - myspace, facebook and similar sites do count - but you’ll have to provide the linkback in a comment here.

However, if you don’t have anywhere you can write about this for everyone to see, to enter you can write 50 words in the comments about why you like MouthyGirl. As a third method of entry, if you leave a comment with a link back to MouthyGirl.com that’s a third opportunity for entry. So you can potentially get as many entries as you want. Keep track of those comments and link to them here in the comments.

So enter the contest! Even if all you do is sign up for the MouthyGirl.com updates by Email that’s one entry to the contest, which is better than none. Make sure you take that extra step and verify your subscription because if it’s not an active subscription, you’re not entered into the contest. So far there are three entrants, Susan, Jess and Eva. Get after it people! I’ve made it SO easy!

UPDATE: Thanks to @cgranier from my Twitter list of lovelies - we have a Spartan Cheer to share! Without any further ado:

Aaaah. I feel much better now! LMAO - Have a great Friday folks!

I’m Watching You

Tag: Humility, Just Fun, Mouthy GirlsMouthyGirl @ 1:13 pm

LMAO! Creepy moment eh? Let me tell you a funny story. (Hey Dennis!) Two days ago I was looking over MouthyGirl.com’s stats checking out where my traffic is coming from so that I can further emphasize the right avenues, so on and so forth right?

Well for a few months now I’ve noticed someone that works with my husband is reading MouthyGirl - which I think is awesome! But then I noticed they were searching “dh” which is an acronym for dear hubby and then after that they searched “Jason” and then I thought it was a girl maybe looking for me to be writing something she didn’t think Jason would appreciate. Look, I’m a girl and I get jealous and that doesn’t mean that rational thought follows! I love my man and no one else can have him, so definitely in my mind I was a bit on the territorial side.

I called Jason over to my laptop to explain what I was looking at and why it was creeping me out and kind of ticking me off. The next day he discovered it was Dennis - a really cool guy he works with. (I hear you’ve acquired a cherry MR2 - good choice!)

So now my jealous bone is no longer inflamed and all is right in the MouthyGirl.com stats world again - and I know who one of my readers is!

This is where I thank all three of you for being readers and do my parade wave…..**parade wave ensues………………parade wave over** I appreciate you guys for reading MouthyGirl.com and that’s why I’ve put up an Ipod - as an offering for my appreciation. I think you’re all great and without your comments and encouragement I wouldn’t have any mouthy buddies!

So thank you for reading MouthyGirl everyone! Love ya!

Oh yeah…
