A lot of people say they would never do it but would you? Why? Do you have a problem with it at all?

A lot of people say they would never do it but would you? Why? Do you have a problem with it at all?
Absolutely, yes. 100%.
My job as a parent isn’t to be oblivious to what my kid’s up to. My job is to guide my kids and teach them to make solid decisions. If I suspect they are hiding something that is harmful to them or others, then I would totally go look so that I can talk to them about what they are doing and what some of the reasons are for it.

I agree absolutely. It is our job to make grown, capable adults out of the children we bear and you don’t get to that mountaintop by turning a blind eye to the trouble spots.
I think responsibility is lacking in the generations that are bearing children now and it scares the hell outta me.

I think I would have to say yes. The reason is that, yes, privacy is important, but if something is suspicious or something, I would have to say parents have the right to search the room. Of course, a lot of different things will factor into this, such as trust, but I believe that it is one of the most interesting questions to answer. I remember watching Oprah or Dr. Phil and they had an entire show on just this one question, it was pretty crazy and contained a lot of information!
No way jose, I wouldnt and couldnt do it. my mom did that to me as a teen and i totaly hated her after that. If she would have asked i would have told her the truth. but she didnt she went snooping instead… so yeah communication is key i think if you have that you will have no need to snoop
Hmm, I think I would dislike it too if my mother searched my room too! I believe asking is important too and I believe this is one of those debates they should have in high school or something! You know, the debates where it’s like, “Should we wear school uniforms?”
