GirlFriday Kickstart My Heart

Tag: Entertainment, GirlFridayMouthyGirl @ 4:00 pm

Today we’re having a Motley Crue sponsored Girlfriday - today my Dad had his heart shocked because he had an irregular heart beat, this is their way of trying to get it to beat the right way again. My Dad was diving in Cozumel in 1999 and died when he tried to come up to quickly…they brought him back thankfully but since that time he has had an irregular heart beat. His stroke a month ago made that something he could no longer do nothing about. So since this is the second time he’s been kickstarted…

I miss being a kid and thinking that Dad would never go anywhere. Thinking that he was superman and that he could do anything. I still think he can do anything, but I know now that he’s not superman and he is but a mere mortal. That scares me to think about so I avoid it when I can.

So the procedure was successful, they stopped his heart and then started it up again and it started the right way. There’s a lot he has to do to maintain that, but he’ll do it.

I know my Dad never gets on the internet, and when he does get on, my website is the last thing on his mind….but regardless, here’s a song to you Dad.

Facing mortality is such a draining thing to do.

The Ugly Inside

Tag: Humble Beginnings, Humility, Just Fun, Life, Opinion, ProgressMouthyGirl @ 7:51 am

No one likes to think about it, much less admit it, out loud or to themselves. That side of us that thinks negatively, judges quickly, makes us paranoid and suspicious, that ugly side of us, that we don’t want anyone to see because we know it’s a frowned upon attitude or thought process.

I have that inside me, the UGLY. The ugly makes me think I am ugly and that makes me care what other people think of me. I don’t like to think other people affect the way I feel about myself, but they do. That same ugly makes me think ugly thoughts about other people, I make assumptions that aren’t right, judgements that I feel guilty for later, and other deeds that are certainly not honorable.

I drink far too much. I find it to be one of the precious few things that calms me. Sometimes I feel lost and don’t know what direction to take, wishing I had a clear talent, something I was good at. I have to try at everything…nothing comes easily really.

But I have the UGLY. The syndrome that makes me feel like I’m being judged and where I too am guilty of the wrong assumption. Do you have days like this? Weeks, even months?

Seems sometimes I can’t shake this negative attitude, then for a while I’m doing well and staying positive and feeling successful…

Oh well, tomorrow is GirlFriday and that always cheers me up!

Six Quirks of MouthyGirl

Tag: Entertainment, Just Fun, Mouthy GirlsMouthyGirl @ 10:09 pm

I’ve been tagged with a meme by LilMomThatCould, a blog that you definitely want to check out. You’ll be glad you did.

On to the meme, which if I didn’t mention it before is a sort of chain letter adapted for the internet. LilMomThatCould posted this same one, which I linked to above and tagged me to do the same meme. Given the opportunity to tell you something odd about myself is something I am delighted to do! I see these oddities all the time, so it won’t be hard to give up five of them. Naturally I pick myself apart, but I’m glad I have people around who love me despite them.

Here are the Rules:

1. Link the person who tagged you.

2. Mention the rules on your blog.

3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks you possess.

4. Tag 6 following bloggers by linking them.

5. Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged.

Okay…so six unspectacular quirks that I possess.

1. I hate my sheets to be exposed so I make my bed everyday. I have two cats, and I do not cotton to the idea of having kitty hair in my bedsheets, much as I love the little money sucks, I don’t have any desire to share my sleeping space with their hair. So I make the bed everyday. And we lock them out of the bedroom while we’re gone. They don’t need to get the idea they have the run of the house. Said kitties featured below, first we have Punk (very aptly named by the way) and then we have Rebound (whose nickname is SpeedBump for obvious reasons).

2. A second oddball quirk…I hate a full sink. And if that means I have to stack dirty dishes neatly beside the sink, that’s what that means. Yes I know it’s easier just to wash them…but sometimes I don’t want to take the time to do that. Which takes me to number 3.

3. I have to wash my dishes before I wash my dishes. Yeah, no rinsing and sticking them in and winging it for me, oh no. So when my dishes come out with crap on them, you know I’m pissed off! I know they didn’t go in there like that! I used to hear when I was a kid, “the dishwasher is NOT a garbage disposal!” I got the point.

4. I hate trash anywhere but in the trash can, and I hate it there too. I hate trash. Further, I think that should be a man’s job, every time. I don’t think women should have to deal with that at all. We’re expected to smell good, look pretty and give you hot sex….ahem, step with the trash yo.

5. I’m outta numbers but not quirks….hmmm….maybe you guys will be lucky enough to hear about more again later. Okay…last but not least quirk… I think hairy people are gross. Ew Ew Ew. When a person is hairy, then has the nerve to wear shorts, um could we cover that up please? I could puke, really. Icky Icky Yuck!

So that’s my five, now I gotta figure out who I’m gonna tag. So of course I’m going to pick on the quirkiest people I know in the blogosphere. :)

We’ll start with tagging Dan who was reading Sabrina’s Money Matters back when I was getting my blogging feet wet. Tag you’re it Dan! I know what that means and you’re on! Then I’m tagging Sara who wrote about unfortunate incidents the same week I had one, so I couldn’t help it, and I love her blog, who couldn’t use a little lesson in Simplicity?

I don’t know if CardioGirl will participate, but I hope so, she always makes me laugh. Always. I must tag JD, we both do things, but she blogs about it, you’ll love her and her quirks!

Last but not least is a new blog I’m reading FatGrrl. I love it. Nuff said, you must check it out. I have another one I’m reading, but not gonna divulge that gem yet. We’ll just say FatGrrl led me there.

So tag peeps! You’re it!

** Update: As I reread this post I realized that between the title and the end I forgot I owed you six quirks…um not five. I guess I forgot how to count. So sixth quirk, sometimes my brain will be going through thought processes faster than my brain can keep up and I lose things in the process….like how many quirks I was supposed to tell you about. It’s frustrating, some might call this ADD, I might too, but I don’t like labels. ;)

Monday Morning Mojo Graceless MouthyGirl

Tag: Contests, Curious, Entertainment, VideosMouthyGirl @ 7:29 am

Can I borrow someone’s mojo today? Mine’s not working, I think she stayed home because as soon as I left my apartment this morning I knew my mojo had left me.

I walked outside, locked the door. Turned and took the first two of thirty steps to the ground floor and promptly lost my balance, my footing and my pride. All. At. Once.

MouthyGirl ate it. Oh yes, two steps down and my feet didn’t do as I said, instead they gave out and came right out from under me, or should I say went too far under me and left me hurling forward with nothing but my arms to save me.

Thankfully. They did. I have a gash on my shin and scrape marks on my cute shoes and worse I’m going to have a ginormous bruise on my hand. Very ladylike.

I’m trying not to let this ruin my day. But what’s worse and adds insult to injury is that my neighbor saw. me. fall. It’s not so bad when nobody sees you, that is much easier to laugh off. But now my neighbor has a story to tell at work - about me! Falling!

Ugh.

Here’s a link to the actual video but Universal won’t let you embed their videos, so you got a cheezy one, sorry.

Yes, it’s okay to laugh about me falling. Even get a visual, but if you laugh hysterically and get in trouble and you dare blame it on me - I’m going to have to hurt you.

But you get the point. Also, I have the idea for a new contest, but am drawing a blank on what you guys would want, so tell me what kind of prizes appeal to you for $50 or so and let me get some ideas. I want you to participate after all and what better way than to offer something you said you wanted?

Just Fine

Tag: Entertainment, Just FunMouthyGirl @ 6:45 am

This morning I’m up early at work, trying to get motivated to get a lot done this morning. Wanted to share one of my favorite songs that get me going…

Love all her music. She’s very sincere in all her music. I can appreciate that.

One of my favorite lines in this song…”I’m appreciating life I’m so glad that I’m fine!”

Amen Mary.
