Shopping Season Sucks!

Posted on

I hate shopping, I’ll start with that. My list of places I shop are in that category of “lesser of the evils” not counting WalMart. I used to buy clothes for my son at KMart, before they closed most of their Texas stores, and now there are two left in the entire state! But they advertise here. All the time. I mean, all the effin time! First, before we get into this, let me address the decision makers at KMart right quick…

Attention KMart Executives! We have a problem here in Texas. This state has only two stores and yet you continue relentlessly advertising your sales! STOP IT! Or, alternatively, you can hop to and open one in the DFW area. šŸ˜‰

Now that that’s out of the way, I’ll continue. Texas is a big state, you’ve seen it on the map right? Well, there’s a KMart in Abilene, far far far north of me. Or there’s a KMart in Beaumont, far far far south of me. I’m not driving that far to a KMart. I love the store, they have great stuff, in fact I still have some things I bought at KMart years ago before they closed, I’m a big fan of KMart.

I even continued liking them when they got all Martha Stewart on me. Oh yeah, that was a difficult time for mine and KMart’s relationship. Then, with no warning or pretext, they ripped all the KMarts out of my area, and anywhere close to my area. Now I’m forced to shop at WalMart and JC Penney and stores like that. Can you feel my pain? Those places are mobbed with people all the time.

Honestly, I haven’t even started shopping yet. I hate it that much. If I know me, and I do, I’ll probably wait until the weekend right before Christmas and freak because I’ve only got a week and I’ll go begrudgingly to WalMart and buy gifts for the kids in the family. But I won’t like it, in fact I’ll hate it, every second of it.

I had to go shopping this past weekend to get something fancy nice to wear to the hubby’s Christmas party. Oy. I went to Ross with my sister in law, she shops a lot more than me and I needed some direction. Did I tell you I hate the whole shopping thing?

So we went, grabbed some crap off the racks and I went and commenced trying crap on. Yes, crap because I hate this crap. Jackets and skirts to be specific. I found several and through trying these clothes on I discovered, MouthyGirl has put on a few pounds in the last month or so! That pissed me off because now I have to buy a bigger size in something I don’t want in the first place. Oh yeah, bad day gone horribly worse.

So the lovely sister in law goes and grabs some more crap in a bigger size for my now plumper ass and I find one that I sorta like and that fits. SOLD! I don’t keep looking, I don’t model in the mirror, “Ooooh this one, or this one? These shoes, or those shoes?” Nope, I’m done once I find one and I’m out.

The only time I remotely like shopping is during the week in the middle of the day when everyone else is at work. Even then I don’t really like it, it’s just more bearable because all the rude people are at work and if you’re reading this I don’t mean you. šŸ˜‰

What are your experiences with shopping? Do the seasons change your opinion of the activity? What do you like about it, if you do?
