through textured glass I saw destruction
bleary and unsettling
still; I opened the door
tripped the bomb
teeming with rancor

for a moment there was bliss
just an instant like a summer kiss; where
lazy warm rain drizzled on my face
peek a boo sunshine shone
warm in that place

but with these eyes came second sight
you were pain incarnate
sudden, strong and mean
left me tied to a heartache

then galloped off into the sunset
I wish I was a cowboy
