GirlFriday Kickstart My Heart

Tag: Entertainment, GirlFridaySabrina @ 4:00 pm

Today we’re having a Motley Crue sponsored Girlfriday - today my Dad had his heart shocked because he had an irregular heart beat, this is their way of trying to get it to beat the right way again. My Dad was diving in Cozumel in 1999 and died when he tried to come up to quickly…they brought him back thankfully but since that time he has had an irregular heart beat. His stroke a month ago made that something he could no longer do nothing about. So since this is the second time he’s been kickstarted…

I miss being a kid and thinking that Dad would never go anywhere. Thinking that he was superman and that he could do anything. I still think he can do anything, but I know now that he’s not superman and he is but a mere mortal. That scares me to think about so I avoid it when I can.

So the procedure was successful, they stopped his heart and then started it up again and it started the right way. There’s a lot he has to do to maintain that, but he’ll do it.

I know my Dad never gets on the internet, and when he does get on, my website is the last thing on his mind….but regardless, here’s a song to you Dad.

Facing mortality is such a draining thing to do.

GirlFriday: Got Time for a Quickie?

Tag: Entertainment, GirlFriday, Just Fun, Mouthy Girls, VideosSabrina @ 7:42 am

Hee hee. I was looking for a great Friday video to share with y’all and well. I found one. I got 1:17 into it and had to stop it to post it because I was so excited about it.

This group is called “The Darkness”. Here’s the video:

Now tell me something. Do they really pass for “The Darkness”? And what’s up with the dude with wings doing the Carlton Dance the whole time. The video started off pretty cool and I thought hey, this might be good. insert smilie. Then I started watching the video and like I said. I got 1:17 into it and had to stop it. That was hilarious! You think they took themselves seriously?

What a farce! Who let those guys have a video budget? Can you find me some wacky hilarious videos?

GirlFriday Catchup

Tag: Contests, GirlFridaySabrina @ 1:13 pm

Now I know there are more people that read MouthyGirl than Rachel, Jessica and Beckie, where my girls at?

But boy am I gonna have an ASSLOAD of comments to count! But this is by far the most fun I’ve had since MouthyGirl.com was started back in February - when I still had no idea where MouthyGirl.com was going.

This has been so much fun that I may speed up the next contest so that I get to watch this again. I will post more videos if I can come up with videos to post. Don’t think you guys want to see that much of me.

And as Rachel was asking, my Dad got out of the hospital last week finally, he has to have Coumadin treatments but he’s otherwise pretty okay, he has a hard time with his short memory still, in fact last night dear hubby was talking to my Dad and he couldn’t remember my name for a minute. That scares the hell out of me. We have Alzheimer’s and Dementia in the family and my Grandmother had a stroke shortly before her condition worsened. She’s in her 70’s and in a nursing home because she needs round the clock care, she doesn’t know who I am anymore.

But I don’t want to talk about that, it’s hard to think about my Dad getting older and even harder to think he can’t remember my name and worse still to think that might happen to me one day, that I’ll have trouble remembering my son maybe. Ouch. Enough of that.

Next month, maybe in September, not sure how soon yet…I think I’ll run with the Gift Card contest. I’ll have to think up a catchy premise by which to run it, but that won’t be hard to do. I don’t think. (hint hint - any ideas, please share).

And since you all are commenting so much - tell me friends, what do you think of Wednesday Fwd? Do you like it or does it suck? Be honest now.

Don’t Want to Miss a Thing…

Tag: Entertainment, GirlFriday, Just Fun, LifeSabrina @ 9:24 pm

Every morning or evening I sit down and I want to talk to you, discuss things with you, share our respective points of view. One day when I make a little dough, if I make a little dough on this site, I’d like to pay for vBulletin and offer a forum, if that’s something that fits with the vision when the time comes.

But between now and then, I’d still like to talk with you, discuss things with you, interact. I get an email whenever you leave a comment, I know instantly when someone has something to say about what I’ve written. I love that. I like to talk to you, hear your thoughts, share with you. Don’t you want to communicate with me? There are lots of ways to do that, I’m easy to find, but I think Subscribing to MouthyGirl.com by Email is a big step in the direction of communication between us instead of me writing and you reading and we never talk.

Obviously we share some of the same ideals, and have a lot in common or I would’ve irritated you by now.

So join me here in conversation, I want to interact not just post and preach. When you subscribe by email, every time I update MouthyGirl you’ll know about it and can come let me know what you think. Which I would really enjoy very much. I like to think this is a place you can let your hair down and be free from oppression of your opinion.

So sit back, take a shot of Patron, and make your voice known!

Subscribe here and let’s talk.

GirlFriday We Are Family

Tag: Curious, GirlFriday, Just Fun, Life, Mouthy GirlsSabrina @ 7:53 am

My little sister Sarah and I share a special bond, dare I say. Recently I’ve been spending my lunch break with her one day a week, her and my niece and nephew visit, well my nephew gurgles but my niece is cute as can be at 3 years old, so we have a good visit.

I’m usually late coming back from lunch because I lose track of time. She and I have decided to take it further and start hitting a happy hour once a week, which should be super fun. We get along very well, we’re both happy with our hubbies, so it’ll be innocent sister fun. My other sisters and I all have our things we’ve shared, but me and Sarah are tight in a different way.

I’ve neglected our relationship, I won’t lie she was a wild teenager, but I was glad she could be without the oppression that I had when I was younger from our mother. I guess my older sister and I wore my mother out a bit for her, there wasn’t as much fight left. So I’m looking forward to it, I’ll have to wait until my hubbies car gets fixed again but after that, it’s Margaritaville time!

Sarah and I are 7 years apart and my older sister and I are 2 years apart. My other younger sister is only three years younger than me. Do you have any siblings that you share a special closeness with? What do you think makes some siblings closer to each other than others?

GirlFriday Isn’t it Ironic?

Tag: Entertainment, GirlFriday, Just FunSabrina @ 6:26 am

Tomorrow we’re going to see Wall-e, looks cute but not incredible, we shall see. I can’t wait to see Hulk and Dark Knight. Very excited to see those movies. I don’t know if any of you have noticed that the movies for the last several years have sucked SO BAD that I haven’t been in years. Sure good movies have come out, but not great ones. So I’m excited that so much good stuff is coming out.

Hancock is coming out next week I think and I’ll go see that too, that and Dark Knight are the two I’m looking most forward to. What are you guys doing this weekend, any movies you’re going to see I’m not? Or more exciting plans?

For GirlFriday today folks, I’m sharing a YouTube video with you that I think is quite ironic. And now without further adeau:

Okay, enough with the tribute. We loved him, will always love him, I’m drinking to George tonight…now let’s move on. I love this bit about making a movie in prison

Richard: “Why did you murder the whole family?”
Murderer: “Because they was home.”

“Thank God there are prisons!”

Amen.
