Sorry I missed you guys yesterday, I started this really opinionated post about Sex Education - which is coming soon - then I thought about the funeral coming up of my Great Aunt, who was really great, and lost my thought process. But I’ll finish that over the weekend, and I really think most of you will agree with me.

You ever find yourself waiting for the other shoe to drop? So many things go wrong you wonder what’s next? I’m so there. (I feel like a progressive commercial, lol)

I attended the funeral of a wonderful woman yesterday who meant a lot to anyone who knew her and so today I’m keeping things brief. I don’t have much to say as I’m doing a lot of reflecting on my personal life, my family life and what I consider important. I’ve been thinking about going back to school to finish my Bachelor’s degree more and more, I just have this feeling of unfinished business all the time. My best friend jokes and tells me I should go to law school since she’s going to medical school…but I’m not sure. I kinda think that legal work is boring. LOL.

I was really just looking for an excuse to include that song, I really like how musical that song is. Speaking of music, I listen to a lot of different kinds of music but I’ve noticed a change in it lately, a change in the style of music. Not an unwelcome change either, because I was getting a little bored.

Like this song by Solange Knowles, I Decided. Good stuff, I really like it and despite her reputation, I think her style is great and loved the doo-wop music from back in the day myself.

Then there is this song by Adele “Chasing Pavements”. The sidewalk dancing in that video is very very cool and Adele looks a lot like my older sister so I always think about my sister when I see that video.

And I think this one is my favorite so far by Duffy singing Mercy. Tell me you don’t bob your head to that song…she has another song called Warwick Avenue you should look for…nice song, sad song, but good just the same.

I miss my MTV. VH1 is a close second, but they are still second and they don’t even play videos all the time anymore. What ever happened to 24 hour music videos? I miss those days, the closest thing I can get to that is VH1 Classic, and I like to hear new stuff now and then too…so that gets old.

I would love another music channel that never changed and played videos all the time, I understand the occasional commercial, but I know I won’t be the only one watching.

Happy Friday everyone I hope you all have a great day, great weekend and spend some time with your families, we’re all getting older and there’s no promise of tomorrow so enjoy them while you can, life is just too damn short to think you’ll do it tomorrow.

It’s time to vote for the Winner of the Week in the “I Don’t Do Mornings Contest.”

Without further ado…let’s kick it off with a favorite song of mine, while I was trying to think of a good song to go with our voting today, Rachel suggested this and immediately I went after a version I could share. So here it is:

Great song eh? I love it. You can’t help but bob your head to that. It. Just. Rocks. So far we haven’t had that many photo submissions, but nevertheless, it’s off to a great start. Let me just say thank you to all my twitter friends who have entered the contest, next to each entrants’ name this week, I’ll put their twitter name, so you can look them up if you like.

After that I got a few more great photos, my first submission was Ruby (@RubyO), then I received a submission from FemaleProdigy (@FemaleProdigy), and finally, the most recent submission brought an immediate smile to my face, Rachel’s submission(@MommyTalkerRach):

Today we’re having a Motley Crue sponsored Girlfriday - today my Dad had his heart shocked because he had an irregular heart beat, this is their way of trying to get it to beat the right way again. My Dad was diving in Cozumel in 1999 and died when he tried to come up to quickly…they brought him back thankfully but since that time he has had an irregular heart beat. His stroke a month ago made that something he could no longer do nothing about. So since this is the second time he’s been kickstarted…

I miss being a kid and thinking that Dad would never go anywhere. Thinking that he was superman and that he could do anything. I still think he can do anything, but I know now that he’s not superman and he is but a mere mortal. That scares me to think about so I avoid it when I can.

So the procedure was successful, they stopped his heart and then started it up again and it started the right way. There’s a lot he has to do to maintain that, but he’ll do it.

I know my Dad never gets on the internet, and when he does get on, my website is the last thing on his mind….but regardless, here’s a song to you Dad.

Facing mortality is such a draining thing to do.

Hee hee. I was looking for a great Friday video to share with y’all and well. I found one. I got 1:17 into it and had to stop it to post it because I was so excited about it.

This group is called “The Darkness”. Here’s the video:

Now tell me something. Do they really pass for “The Darkness”? And what’s up with the dude with wings doing the Carlton Dance the whole time. The video started off pretty cool and I thought hey, this might be good. insert smilie. Then I started watching the video and like I said. I got 1:17 into it and had to stop it. That was hilarious! You think they took themselves seriously?

What a farce! Who let those guys have a video budget? Can you find me some wacky hilarious videos?

Now I know there are more people that read MouthyGirl than Rachel, Jessica and Beckie, where my girls at?

But boy am I gonna have an ASSLOAD of comments to count! But this is by far the most fun I’ve had since MouthyGirl.com was started back in February - when I still had no idea where MouthyGirl.com was going.

This has been so much fun that I may speed up the next contest so that I get to watch this again. I will post more videos if I can come up with videos to post. Don’t think you guys want to see that much of me.

And as Rachel was asking, my Dad got out of the hospital last week finally, he has to have Coumadin treatments but he’s otherwise pretty okay, he has a hard time with his short memory still, in fact last night dear hubby was talking to my Dad and he couldn’t remember my name for a minute. That scares the hell out of me. We have Alzheimer’s and Dementia in the family and my Grandmother had a stroke shortly before her condition worsened. She’s in her 70’s and in a nursing home because she needs round the clock care, she doesn’t know who I am anymore.

But I don’t want to talk about that, it’s hard to think about my Dad getting older and even harder to think he can’t remember my name and worse still to think that might happen to me one day, that I’ll have trouble remembering my son maybe. Ouch. Enough of that.

Next month, maybe in September, not sure how soon yet…I think I’ll run with the Gift Card contest. I’ll have to think up a catchy premise by which to run it, but that won’t be hard to do. I don’t think. (hint hint - any ideas, please share).

Every morning or evening I sit down and I want to talk to you, discuss things with you, share our respective points of view. One day when I make a little dough, if I make a little dough on this site, I’d like to pay for vBulletin and offer a forum, if that’s something that fits with the vision when the time comes.

But between now and then, I’d still like to talk with you, discuss things with you, interact. I get an email whenever you leave a comment, I know instantly when someone has something to say about what I’ve written. I love that. I like to talk to you, hear your thoughts, share with you. Don’t you want to communicate with me? There are lots of ways to do that, I’m easy to find, but I think Subscribing to MouthyGirl.com by Email is a big step in the direction of communication between us instead of me writing and you reading and we never talk.

Obviously we share some of the same ideals, and have a lot in common or I would’ve irritated you by now.
