Today is another Monday, Columbus Day even, which is a day that we celebrate Christopher Columbus discovering the “New World” that would come to be the country we know and love today. I won’t tell you how old she’ll be but she is my older sister.

This week will be very eventful as not only is it my sister’s birthday today, tomorrow my new nephew will be born. One of my younger sisters is going in to have a C-section and we’ll have another addition to the family.

Yesterday, my family, my sister and her family and my Dad and Stepmom all went out for lunch. It was fun, and it’s always nice to spend time with family. We get caught up in our own lives and sometimes forget to stop and get together to catch up. Before you know it the kids are grown and we’re wondering where the time went and reminiscing about when gas was under $1 a gallon. Those were the days.

We are counting down to our cruise on November 1st, getting excited, a little nervous. I’m a little shy. Hey don’t act so surprised, it’s easy to sit down and type out my thoughts and share with you what’s going on in my life, because you don’t have a face when I’m typing, you do when you comment and begin to interact with me here, but until then, I’m just writing to Wordpress. Any further thought beyond that I’m afraid would produce the problem of writer’s block. So the idea of meeting people and sitting with strangers at dinner and all that kind of has me a little wierded out.

So in honor of my older sister getting older today, here’s a song for her.

Finally, a song for my nephew…

I love that song, it’s very true to how I feel about my son, and nieces and nephews. Life has so much to offer that you can’t help but hope that they get to experience the absolute best of everything, and the least experience of pain and trials possible. As children we often underestimate the harsh realities of adulthood because our parents, rightfully, try to shield us from their trials, the things that make them worry. All too often as youngsters we were so busy looking forward to the freedoms of adulthood that we forgot the freedoms of childhood were right in front of us.

Additionally, this weekend I added a few things in the administration panel of MouthyGirl.com to make galleries easier and to add polls to the sidebar, so polls will become a regular sidebar item. They’re a great way to find out what you think without asking for a lot of your time. Also, I began work on the sister site to MouthyGirl.com. I haven’t decided on a slogan for it, or even really a title, this will be where I will introduce products that you might like, and where I’ll start linking to various deals and products that we like. I’m excited about the possibilities of it and will announce it once I’ve gotten it all ready for your viewing.

Over the weekend I got down to business and got a lot of things done on the site and at home. I talked about it a little bit yesterday, updated the version of WordPress that MouthyGirl is built on and all the plugins as well.

Geeky stuff, but done. I also ordered a book that will help me write better, hopefully. I am in the market for a book about grammar, or maybe a book on tape. This is something I need to work on, I know Elements of Style is the bible of grammar, but I get bored quickly and am afraid I won’t read it. So if I could get a book on tape that would be great, I think that would be easier to ingest.

So I got quite a bit done, thought I’d share one of my favorite songs with you guys. From none other than the angriest white rapper, Eminem….this is a fun song.

It’s Monday and Mondays are always miserable, so with that I share another song I adore and own the cd for: Misery Business by Paramore.

I love that song. So if any of you know of a good grammar book on tape or something short and sweet that will give me a crash course that would be great.

Can I borrow someone’s mojo today? Mine’s not working, I think she stayed home because as soon as I left my apartment this morning I knew my mojo had left me.

I walked outside, locked the door. Turned and took the first two of thirty steps to the ground floor and promptly lost my balance, my footing and my pride. All. At. Once.

MouthyGirl ate it. Oh yes, two steps down and my feet didn’t do as I said, instead they gave out and came right out from under me, or should I say went too far under me and left me hurling forward with nothing but my arms to save me.

Thankfully. They did. I have a gash on my shin and scrape marks on my cute shoes and worse I’m going to have a ginormous bruise on my hand. Very ladylike.

I’m trying not to let this ruin my day. But what’s worse and adds insult to injury is that my neighbor saw. me. fall. It’s not so bad when nobody sees you, that is much easier to laugh off. But now my neighbor has a story to tell at work - about me! Falling!

Ugh.

Yes, it’s okay to laugh about me falling. Even get a visual, but if you laugh hysterically and get in trouble and you dare blame it on me - I’m going to have to hurt you.

But you get the point. Also, I have the idea for a new contest, but am drawing a blank on what you guys would want, so tell me what kind of prizes appeal to you for $50 or so and let me get some ideas. I want you to participate after all and what better way than to offer something you said you wanted?

Hee hee. I was looking for a great Friday video to share with y’all and well. I found one. I got 1:17 into it and had to stop it to post it because I was so excited about it.

The video started off pretty cool and I thought hey, this might be good. insert smilie. Then I started watching the video and like I said. I got 1:17 into it and had to stop it. That was hilarious! You think they took themselves seriously?

What a farce! Who let those guys have a video budget? Can you find me some wacky hilarious videos?

I recently read an article on MomLogic about women who live in sexless marriages because they hate sex. While I can’t imagine having that issue, I can understand the circumstances that can make that happen. But I also think that women should do whatever they can to overcome this issue because sex is an important part of a relationship, it re-enforces the bond and the love you share. Honestly I think sex is necessary to maintain a healthy relationship.

I can appreciate Anniversary Sex a little more because I enjoy sex and my hubby enjoys it and we know we have it pretty good. Not everyone is so fortunate and we realize that.

When I was in high school a song came out that I didn’t understand at the time. George Michael came out with “I Want Your Sex” and people were CRAZY about it. I didn’t get it. Now though, I do. And I agree.

17 is a song I’ve always identified with pretty well, never had trouble from the cops in my “hometown” really though. Wouldn’t wanna go back there though, there’s nothing for me there. Of course it’s the human condition to be Sick and Tired and CCR is so good at making me relate and sit for a while on my pity pot.

On the pity pot is a place we all sit from time to time, it’s if we let others catch us that makes the difference, lol. Just don’t get caught and it’ll be okay, I promise. (If I catch you I won’t tell though )

Then I decided it was time to get off my pity pot and get motivated for the day because I have a lot of work ahead of me, so of course you know I had to go for old faithful… This song gets me geared up for everything, not really sure why but…it does.
