Spoiled

by MouthyGirl

Yesterday one of the attorneys in the firm I’m leaving took me to lunch at a restaurant I thought only existed in Richardson, Texas – about 30 miles from where I live and work in the Mid Cities/Arlington area, Texas.

My husband works in Richardson and a few times I’ve gone to have lunch with him on days where I’ve been in the area. Bistro B is a Vietnamese restaurant that was originally started in Houston, Texas but the owner sold that business and moved it up to the Dallas / Fort Worth area. I am very grateful.

The first time I ate at Bistro B I was impressed and each time I’ve gone I’ve enjoyed the food, the service and the freshness overall.

Yesterday my friend took me to one that sits right here in my backyard. I took a picture of the inside so I could share it, I tore into the food before I thought to take a picture of it so maybe next time…

Bistro B

The Bistro B nearest my house is in an area I know pretty well, Grand Prairie, Texas where my dad lives, so I’ve been all through that city. I can’t tell you how nice it is to know good Vietnamese food is just down the highway from me.

J went to the Bistro B in Richardson, where he works, so we both had a really great lunch.

To top it all off, last night for dinner (because we didn’t feel like going shopping) we went to Romano’s Macaroni Grill in Grapevine, J had the Mama’s Trio (Three Italian classics. Primo Chicken Parmesan, Layers of Lasagna and Chicken Cannelloni) which by his account was incredible, my son testified that he had the best pizza he’s ever had there, and I had the Penne Rustica (Imported penne pasta with shrimp, grilled chicken and smoked prosciutto baked under a golden crust of Parmesan cheese). It was incredible!

Look at their menu…find one close by and take a gander at that delicious food. I used to work at the Olive Garden and thought that was pretty great food, but the Macaroni Grill, at least the one in Grapevine outshines them easily. If any of those people ever read this, they should be proud of their work. I can’t wait to eat my leftovers for dinner tonight…just wish we had some of that yummy bread!

We ate like royalty yesterday! We felt very spoiled. It’s rare that we walk out of a restaurant feeling like our money was very well spent, because Romano’s isn’t exactly cheap, J had a Shiner and I had two glasses of their house White Zinfandel which I recommend, it was excellent.

It gets better… on my way home I went by Old Navy and picked up a few things….and I had to buy a size smaller! RAWK!

Not for Sissies

by MouthyGirl

So I mentioned I have a new job… well because I yam who I yam I am working them both this week, the new one after the 8-5 and as much as I can cram into my lunch hour. Let’s not talk about the schoolwork I’m neglecting at the moment. Tonight I vow to spend some time putting together a schedule for myself that I will follow so that I can get everything done.

Did I mention I’m really tired? But it’s only for a week and I’m enjoying it really – regardless of how tired I am.

Baby Cat - Infrared

This next seven days holds three birthdays and three parties. My nephew Connor turns 1 on Saturday so we’ll be going to his party, then I turn 30 on Sunday so I’ll be of course going to my party that my Cousin’s roommate Jose so wonderfully volunteered to cater it back during Thanksgiving. (Mexican food – I can hardly wait!!) Then on the 7th my other nephew Levi turns 1, and his party is next weekend. Busy Busy in my family this month!

What are you guys up to this week? Any good April Fools Day jokes brewing?

What are your plans for the summer?
