Yesterday I read a blog post discussing the competition that pits woman vs woman, mom vs mom and how sad and silly it all is. I won’t get into the specific argument that started this because it doesn’t deserve the attention but I do want to address the disparity.
As liberated women in this nation, we owe it to ourselves and each other to honor our fellow women for whatever choices they might make in their lives. If a woman is doing something positive in her life that makes her happy, who are you, me or anyone else to say it’s not the right thing to do?
One of the core reasons I began MouthyGirl.com was to celebrate women from all walks of life that are not only surviving, but thriving in today’s’ world that is wrought with starvation, suffrage and sacrifice. Women still get stoned to death in some parts of the world!
So why the hell is it so hard for us to stop looking at each other with a suspicious eye, minding each others business? You stay in your yard with your drama and I’ll stay in mine, we can talk and support each other and try to form tight friendships but don’t pass judgment because its not your place, and I won’t either.
It’s not hard ladies. For this one thing, I’m going there – we need to man up. Take a lesson from the guys and stop giving a shit what other people think about you so much, the opinions that should matter to you are the ones in YOUR house.
